Potato Harvest

It’s finally stopped raining so I thought I’d better check on the potatoes and make sure they haven’t rotted away.  Well, to my surprise they hadn’t and, in fact, we managed to harvest 5kg worth of potatoes. Which is pretty good considering we planted 2kg worth of seed potatoes and there is still more than half the harvest left to dig up.

At this point Sarah and I do a little dance of joy and abundance.  Well, except Sarah who is still not at full health and can only manage an enthusiastic wobble.

I can’t tell you how much we’ve been looking forward to our potatoes.  We’ve had a wicked craving lately for shallow fried sliced potatoes with rosemary and salt.  It’s the closest thing we have to junk food here.
